Village Activities


 There is an active History Group which meets monthly. Members are engaged in active research on the history of the village from Saxon times which includes working on the archaeological dig in Fen Meadow throughout the spring and summer.


Whist has proved to be a popular year round activity and takes place on the penultimate Tuesday of the month in the  Village Hall at 19.30. Everyone is welcome - no partners needed. Please see the Events calendar for exact dates.


The Coney Weston Swan Bowls Club is situated next to the village pub. The season is from April - Sept.

It plays in 3 leagues; The Bury League on Monday afternoon and Thursday evening and The Triples League on Tuesday evening.

Practice 'roll-ups' are on Wednesdays from 6.30pm and Sundays from 10am.

The green is open this year, for practice, from Saturday 15th April. The formal opening day is Saturday 22nd April at 2pm, when membership fees can be paid.

New members are always very welcome - Woods and Shoes will be provided - free lessons are available from Ed (the green-keeper) who can be contacted on 01359-221590.

Children over 8 yrs are welcome (with their parent's permission)

Short-mat Bowls is played on a Monday evening between 7.30 - 9.30pm in the village hall between October - April
